I found the process very fast and efficient. Hitchcock & Associates were informative and managed my expectations very well. Let me explain. I was a 10-year-old Rhodesian boy and the folks decided, Australia was the land of happiness and glory for us. The opportunity arose with the then “£10 Pom Visa” – Australia was encouraging British folks across during the period 1945 – 1972. The folks were born in England and came out with dad joining the British South African Police in Rhodesia. The family, 4 of us were soon on our way on the “SS Northern Star” to Freemantle, Australia. For my late brother and I it was such a big adventure. Time was spent in Australia before my mother pined for her parents left behind and we returned to Rhodesia for a short period before heading across the border into South Africa for what has now been 57/58 years ago. With the status in South Africa becoming untenable a colleague told us thanks to Hitchcock and Associates they were heading to the stability of Australia. We in turn followed up a similar route of emigrating. CEO Cecil Bass of Hitchcock & Associates had advised us that he needs details of that trip across to Freemantle all those years ago in February 1965. We looked high, low, and just found the Landfall Dinner Menu. We also had dates and a few photos of us on the vessel. Cecil saw a potential opportunity. Sure, enough after a lot of delving and diving in the Australian Archives Cecil found a document that said: Permanent Resident. A true bull’s eye as Hitchcock and Associates took up this quest. I submitted my Application through Hitchcock & Associates on shore in Australia in mid July 2023. Two months slipped by and “Wallah”, success was achieved. The Resident Return Visa was granted. The call to me from Cecil from Australia was too overwhelming, and I was in tears. My dear wife continued the call. I was suddenly an Aussie oi oi oi, after some 58 years later and to cry was an understatement. Hitchcock and Associates and the Team made the impossible, possible.
